FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Lasting Legacy Estate Services, LLC
What is an estate sale?
An estate sale is a professionally managed sale where the contents of a home are sold to the public. This typically includes furniture, antiques, collectibles, household goods, tools, and more. Our team organizes, prices, markets, and conducts the sale to maximize value.
How do I know if I need an estate sale?
If you are downsizing, relocating, handling a loved one’s estate, or clearing out a property with a large volume of items, an estate sale is often the most efficient and profitable solution.
Do you charge any upfront fees?
No. We operate on a commission-only basis. That means we only get paid when your items sell. Our commission percentage is discussed during the initial consultation.
How much commission do you charge?
Commission rates vary depending on the size, condition, and value of the estate. Higher-value estates may qualify for reduced commission rates. We go over all details transparently before any agreement is signed.
How long does the process take?
From consultation to sale day, the process typically takes 2–3 weeks. This allows time for proper advertising, staging, and pricing to ensure the best results.
Do I need to be present during the sale?
No. In fact, we recommend that clients are not present during the sale. Our team handles everything, including customer interactions, negotiations, and transactions.
What should I do before the sale?
We ask that you do not throw away, donate, or remove items before we evaluate the estate. Many items people assume have little value can often sell. We’ll guide you on anything you wish to keep.
How do you price items?
We research current market values using industry tools, experience, and local demand. Our goal is to price items competitively to ensure they sell while maximizing your return.
How do you advertise the sale?
We use a combination of online estate sale platforms, social media, email lists, and local advertising to attract serious buyers and collectors.
What happens to items that don’t sell?
We typically sell 60–95% of items during the sale. For remaining items, we offer cleanout services, donation coordination, or disposal options depending on your needs.
Do you offer cleanout services without an estate sale?
Yes. We provide full-service cleanouts for homes, garages, attics, barns, storage units, and commercial properties—even if you don’t need a sale.
How and when do I get paid?
You will receive your payment within 3–5 business days after the sale. We provide a detailed, itemized report along with your commission check for full transparency.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Lasting Legacy Estate Services, LLC operates as a professional, insured business to protect both our clients and their property.
What types of items do you sell?
We sell a wide variety of items including furniture, antiques, collectibles, jewelry, tools, appliances, home décor, and everyday household goods.
What if the home needs to be completely emptied?
No problem. We offer full estate liquidation and cleanout services to leave the property empty, clean, and ready for sale or transfer.
Do you work with realtors or attorneys?
Yes. We frequently coordinate with real estate agents, attorneys, and family representatives to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
